Historique

The Jaguar R2 is the single-seater entered by the Jaguar Racing team during the 2001 season. It is driven by the English Eddie Irvine, the Brazilian, Luciano Burti and the Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa. The South African Thomas Scheckter is the test driver.

At the end of the season, Jaguar Racing finished eighth in the constructors’ championship with nine points. Eddie Irvine was 12th in the drivers’ championship with six points, while Pedro de la Rosa was 16th with three points. Team principal Bobby Rahal tried to recruit Adrian Newey but was unsuccessful, and was replaced by world champion Niki Lauda.
