  • 1976

    Business Creation

    Maurice Chabord creates a company in Epagny near Annecy in Haute-Savoie, naturally oriented towards his passion: car racing. Renault Sport, with the adventure of the Formula 1 with turbo engine, is then his prestigious and main customer for the realization of the turbocharged exhausts. This exclusive experience with Renault Sport was to become decisive for the future of the company.

  • 1981

    Export

    Beginning of the export, in particular with the English, German and Italian Racing Teams in Formula 1.

  • 1989 -1992

    SAS Atelier CHABORD

    Maurice Chabord's company becomes EURL CHABORD. The activity extends to the mechanic-welding for the Peugeot Sport cars engaged in the Paris Dakar and then those of Citroën Sport in rallies.
    At the same time, EURL CHABORD, which became SAS ATELIER CHABORD, became involved in the certification of silent exhausts for light civil aircraft. This commitment responds to an increasingly pressing demand from Aero-Clubs confronted with the problems of noise pollution denounced by local residents. This new involvement in aeronautics will broaden the company's field of activity, thanks to the approvals obtained from the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).

    New factory

    The construction of a new 600 m² workshop improves the quality of reception and productivity.

  • 2004

    Alain Chabord

    Over the years, Maurice Chabord passed on his passion for beautiful pieces to his son Alain Chabord, who became CEO of SAS ATELIER CHABORD in 2004. Alain Chabord pursues a policy of quality and technical performance in the company.

  • 2005

    Exhausts and mufflers

    La certification et la commercialisation des échappements silencieux pour ROBIN DR400 120 CV couronnent 15 années de recherche et développement aéronautique assidues, en lien étroit avec des pilotes passionnés et des aéroclubs sensibilisés aux problèmes environnementaux. A cette date, les produits de l’Atelier Chabord sont certifiés pour les modèles les plus utilisés dans l’aviation civile légère : Jodel- Mousquetaire D140, Morane 150CV, Morane Remorqueur 180CV, Cessna 150, Cessna 152, DR 1050, Robin DR 400 120CV, Robin DR 400 180CV et Jodel D119 en CDN.

    GUIMBAL helicopters

    1st collaboration with an aircraft manufacturer to equip the CABRI helicopter as original equipment with our exhausts

  • 2010

    Oshkosh air show

    Participation of SAS ATELIER CHABORD in the Oshkosh Air Show in the United States. New participation in 2011, 2012 and 2013 with in the French Pavilion gathering several French companies involved in aeronautics.
