Historics

The Alpine A110 is a French sports car developed by Jean Rédélé and manufactured in Dieppe by Alpine between 1962 and 1977 from Renault engines.

Famous as a berlinette, the A110 was rally champion in 1971 and 1973.

Alpine A110 was introduced in 1962 at the Paris Motor Show as an evolution of the A108. While the A108 was based on the Renault Dauphine, the A110 uses Renault 8 parts.

The A110 benefits from the modified parts of the Renault 8 Gordini and its prepared engine and always of a steel chassis-beam with a body of glass fiber polyester and an engine in cantilever back. The main difference with the A108 is the enlarged rear end to accommodate the new five-stage Renault four-cylinder engine, giving it a more streamlined look.

The car builds its international reputation through competition. It competed in all the national rallies and won many victories, crowning several French champions at its wheel. Its international career began in the late 1960s and continued in the early 1970s in the new International Manufacturers’ Rally Championship.

Winning the majority of events in Europe, it was the most successful rally car in 1971.

The A110 berlinette became the mythical car of French rally success in the 1960s and 1970s…
